Take, for example, Berlin. (and maybe you remember my peek at Australia!)
Here we have a new designer on the Berlin scene, ACHTLAND. Oliver Lühr, Creative Director says, “ACHTLAND is intended to encapsulate the tension that arises in the play of opposites: for example in the formal elegance of a Victorian dress shirt paired with the femininity of silk-georgette or the strong architectonic silhouette found in our evening dresses.”
I think this tension is rather clear in their S/S 14 collection - a fun mix of girly details with boxy, structured pieces. I kinda love it.
In case you aren't a fan yet - the label is named after Queen Achtland, a figure from Irish-Celtic mythology. Born mortal, she was dissatisfied by the choice of mortal men, so she elevated herself to goddess status by marrying a god.
